"Island in the Sky" finished!
Phil Plait of "Bad Astronomy" has pointed out very well, what I feel, every time I am lucky to be on the island: "Right from the start [… of the Video …], with the crescent Moon setting into the red clouds, you get a sense of how unearthly the island is".
A full description of the How's and Why's is on the Video's Text description. Some cool introductions here:

New Project "Island in the Sky" nearly finished...
Totally excited to say, that I am nearly finished with the final version of "Island in the Sky", a project that took about 1-1/2 years to finish. This will be one cool Short Movie.
Showed the precut to some friends recently, to alert me for flaws or the like. Mike Simmons of Astronomers Without Borders called it "7 minutes of time-lapse goodness."
Alright. Will go live this friday or saturday.
Cheers

The ISS TRONized - Star Trails from the International Space Station
So I was in space mood last night after watching Felix Baumgartner's stratosphere jump. Outside, raindrops hammered against the windows, so I grabbed me some RedBull as well as my earplugs and finally stacked my way trough 1 TB Thunderbolt RAID packed ISS time-lapse footage.
Staring 10 hours into the screens I was more and more amazed about the Star Trails emerging from the ISS footage. With three machines rendering at the same time it was quite a journey to see which footage would work stacked, and which not. At some point I felt a bit like Jeff Bridges fighting against the mighty mainframe in TRON. So I was TRONized!!!
In so far, the result is quite psychedelic, and as Dude Phil Plait over at Bad Astronomer points out very nicely (in yet another reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey): "Oh my god, it's full of startrails!"

TimeLapse Works for the 4-Part TV Series "Bavaria from above"
For the four-part TV series "Bavaria from above" to be aired 1st quarter of 2013, I have produced TimeLapse footage as a special unit in cooperation with German CamPilots. "Bavaria from above" paints a unique view of Bavaria. The goal is to focus all senses to special places: Locations, Buildings, Mountains, that all develop their beauty during TimeLapse cinematography. Additionally a well woven storyline with carefully selected local protagonists and their individual stories gives a strong emotion. Production runs until End of 2012.
All the best
